Demo Submission
No record company ever accepts UNSOLICITED demo submissions, either from the
artist directly, or from an attorney or agent. In such instance, it will be
returned unopened or trashed. However, you must understand that most
entertainment attorneys do not "shop" demos, we only "submit" them.
You must first speak with a real human being at a label, usually from the A&R
department (NOT a secretary or receptionist), who is willing to accept your
demo submission. Take down their name, address & phone number. It is at this
point that you hire an entertainment attorney to submit the demo to the label
on your behalf. This is because labels require submissions to be made by an
attorney or agent.
